Dear neighbours,
Schuttersbosch aan Tafel is a community dinner in our neighbourhood, with the main goal of getting to know each other better while enjoying some good food and drinks. We'd love to continue this annual tradition - this year will be the 19th edition - taking place on Saturday, 21 June.
The dinner consists of three courses, and each household prepares one course. Every course is served in a different home within our neighbourhood. You’ll walk or cycle from one course to the next. Just before each course, you'll find out where you're expected—so it’s a surprise each time who you’ll be dining with!
On 7th June, you will be informed of how many guests (a maximum of six) you will be hosting and which course you will be preparing. It does not need to be an elaborate or complicated dish, but you may need to consider any allergies one of your guests may have. We will ensure that you only need to accommodate one allergy at most.
After the dinner, there will be a closing party where we can all meet, share stories, and enjoy each other's company.
To help cover the cost of the party and organisation, we ask for a contribution of 6 euro per person (or 2 euro per person if you're not attending the party). You'll cover the cost of the course you cook yourself.
The registration is now closed and the schedule has been sent out. See you on the 21st!
Warmest regards,
Karin, Annika, Koen, Veronie & Stefan
Any questions? Feel free to email us at: info@schuttersboschaantafel.nl
Do you get reimbursed for the cost of the meal you prepare, or is it settled in some other way?
No. You cover the cost of the course you prepare yourself—it’s not reimbursed or settled with others. If you take part multiple years, we do try to rotate everyone between starter, main course, and dessert as much as possible.
How do you know which course to prepare and how many guests to expect?
On 7 June, you’ll receive an email letting you know which course you’ll be preparing and how many guests you’ll be hosting. You can expect a maximum of six guests for the course you are cooking. If you do not have enough space for six guests, or if cooking for six feels like too much of a challenge, please indicate this when signing up. We will do our best to take this into account during the planning.
How do you know where you’ll be eating?
About an hour before the evening starts, you’ll receive an email with the address for your starter. Half an hour before the main course, you’ll get another email with the next address. And half an hour before the dessert, you’ll receive the final address. In each case, we keep things a surprise for as long as possible—so you’ll only find out where to go for each course shortly beforehand!
What time does it start?
The starter begins at 18:30, the main course at 19:45, and the dessert at 21:15. You have an hour for each course and 15 minutes to walk to the next address. The party starts at 22:30 at Hazenloop 4.
What’s the party like?
The party includes music, dancing, drinks, and snacks. If the weather’s good, it’ll be held in the garden—if it rains, we’ll move to the conservatory. It’s always a lively and fun evening, full of tall tales about wild culinary creations. By then, all the nerves about cooking are long gone! It’s a great chance to get to know your neighbours even better in a relaxed atmosphere.
Where will the party be held this year?
This year's closing party will be held in Karin's garden at Hazenloop 4. As always, snacks and drinks will be provided
Who can take part?
Schuttersbosch aan Tafel is open to everyone living in Schuttersbosch—but not to those from outside the neighbourhood.
